The Easter long weekend is upon us and that means a range of different trading hours for your favourite stores and restaurants.
Here’s what you need to know about the weekend:
Major supermarkets
All local Coles, Woolworths and Aldi stores will all be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
They’ll all be up and running on both Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Liquor stores
All liquor stores will be closed on Good Friday.
Many stores will close on Easter Sunday but First Choice Liqour and Dan Murphy’s will both be open.
Most liquor stores will operate as normal on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Banks
Bank branches will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday (and on Sunday, as usual).
For banks with Saturday trading, make sure you check with the individual branch.
Australia Post
Australia Post outlets will be closed on both Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Cinemas
Hoyts Penrith will be open right across the Easter weekend, including on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Libraries
Penrith City Library branches will be closed across the Easter break. They’ll close from Good Friday and re-open on Tuesday, April 11.
Retail outlets
Most large and small retail outlets will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but will open on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Petrol stations
Petrol stations will generally be open their normal hours across all four days of the Easter weekend.
Cafes and Restaurants
Check with your favourite eatery regarding their hours over the weekend, as each individual outlet is different.
For example, Percy Plunkett is open every single day of the Easter weekend, but some aren’t.
McDonald’s is open right across the Easter long weekend.
Pubs and clubs
Most pubs and clubs across Penrith will be open on Good Friday but will not have takeaway sales and will close at 10pm.
Normal hours exist on the other days.
Panthers and Penrith RSL will be open as normal right across the weekend.
Major sporting codes
The NRL and AFL continues across the weekend with matches on each day of the long weekend.
The Western Weekender
The Western Weekender will be out as usual on Friday, April 7 with most deliveries occurring to pick-up outlets on Thursday, April 6.
