Beloved Western Australian restaurant brand Chicken Treat has flown the coop, opening its first store on the East Coast, in western Sydney.
Chicken Treat has been a WA favourite since 1976 with more than 55 restaurants throughout the state – and now, the people of western Sydney are getting to experience what WA locals have loved for decades.
The Eastern Creek restaurant opened in December, and Jordan Springs local JP Bhati said he’s excited to own and operate Chicken Treat’s first store on the East Coast.
“It’s a proven brand that is loved and I know it will be successful in New South Wales – I wanted to be part of that incredible journey,” he said.
“The burgers and fried chicken have been really popular since we opened, but it’s impossible to say just how good the rotisserie chicken is – I’d encourage everyone to come and try it!”
Chicken Treat has a cult-like following and CEO Mimma Battista said that’s because of the food’s quality and taste.
“We know there are many wonderful dining options in western Sydney, but Chicken Treat is the ultimate, light-hearted, fun chicken destination! At Chicken Treat, our mission is to be unique so you will see more than just the regular menu items you find at other chicken restaurants – we are all about food innovation, and providing an affordable and fun meal option,” she said.
“Our team listened to western Sydney locals when it came to our menu to ensure we’re offering what they want. We’ve got delicious menu items like our Baconary burger, Jalapeno cheesy bites, and mac and cheese balls, and we offer the best rotisserie and fried chicken, as well as unapologetically indulgent burgers.
“Ask any West Australian, Chicken Treat is known for its chips, and we’re told we have the best chips in the country.”
The Eastern Creek restaurant is the first of 33 stores to open around the country in just 18 months.
Already, another Chicken Treat has opened in Crows Nest on Sydney’s North Shore and by June, there’ll be an additional nine stores across New South Wales and the ACT. Each will be locally owned and operated by a member of the community.
Chicken Treat is certainly proving to be popular. As one Eastern Creek customer said: “great service, clean environment, the food was so tasty and done really well. Generous with ingredients. One of the best bacon sauces and spicy sauces I’ve had and I Ioved the coating on the chicken too!”
Chicken Treat is located in the Eastern Creek Quarter at 159 Rooty Hill Road. To find out more go to http://www.chickentreat.com.au.
