Inquiries continue after alleged Castlereagh stabbing

An investigation is underway after a man was allegedly stabbed in Castlereagh this morning.

About 3.30am, Monday December 12, emergency services were called to Hinxman Road near Post Office Road, Castlereagh, after a member of the public located a man with stab wounds.

Police have been told the man was stabbed before his keys and wallet were stolen, however his vehicle was not taken.

The 20-year-old was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition for treatment of multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established crime scenes with two vehicles and commenced an investigation into the incident.
