Three arrested after supermarket brawl in Cranebrook

A man has been taken to hospital after a brawl at Cranebrook shopping centre tonight.

About 6.15pm, police were called to a supermarket on Borrowdale Way, Cranebrook, after reports of a brawl.

Police have been told that two people – a 42-year-old man and 17-year-old girl – were shopping in the supermarket when they were approached by two females, who allegedly began to assault them.

Three other unknown males attended and continued to assault the man, before the group fled the scene.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The teenage girl was assessed at the scene by paramedics.

Following inquiries, a 46-year-old woman, 15-year-old female and 17-year-old male were arrested at a home on nearby Marley Way, and taken to Penrith Police Station.

Crime scenes have been established at the home and supermarket, and detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
