Detectives have released CCTV vision and are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious house fire earlier this year.

About 9.50pm on Wednesday, May 25, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire at Dolomite Road, Cranebrook.

The fire was contained to the front room and was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW officers a short time later.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no reports of any injuries.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene which was examined by specialist officers.

Nepean detectives later established Strike Fore Heatley to investigate the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

The incident is believed to be a targeted attack.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of a vehicle of interest and a person who may be able to assist police with their inquiries.

The vehicle is described as being possibly either a Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon or similar model, which was seen in the area at the time of the incident, and last seen travelling east along Dolomite Road and then north on Ben Nevis Road.

The person depicted in the footage was travelling in the front-passenger seat of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident or the person and vehicle depicted, is urged to contact Nepean Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
