Man arrested after 11-year-old sexually touched at Penrith water park

A man has been charged over the alleged sexual touching of a young girl and performing a sexual act in front of two teenage girls.

About 1.45pm on Thursday, two girls – aged 13 and 14 – were at Tench Reserve, Jamisontown, when they were approached by a man who allegedly carried out a sexual act in front of them.

The girls ran away and notified members of the public nearby, who contacted police.

“A short time later, officers were called to a water park on Jamison Road, Penrith, following reports a man had entered the female bathroom and allegedly sexually touched an 11-year-old girl,” a police spokesperson said.

“Officers from Nepean Police Area Command subsequently commenced investigations into both incidents.

“During an extensive search of the area, police located and arrested a 26-year-old man at Blaikie Road, Jamisontown.”

He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with six offences including two counts of ‘intentionally do sexual act with child (between 10 and 16 years)’, two counts of ‘stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm’ and ‘intentionally sexually touch child (between 10 and 16 years)’.

The man was bail refused and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
