The Sydney lockdown has been extended until at least July 30 as COVID-19 cases continue to grow.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed this morning that NSW recorded 97 cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, with 24 infectious in the community.

There were 65,000 tests.

“The 24 number is what we need to get down to as close to zero as possible before we end the lockdown,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“We need to extend the lockdown at least a further two weeks. That includes home learning.”
