Man in stable conditions after Penrith stabbing

An investigation is underway following an alleged stabbing in Penrith overnight.

About 11.50pm last night, emergency services responded to reports of an injured man in a car park on Mulgoa Road, near the intersection of Jamison Road, Penrith.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command found a teenager with a stab wound to his side.

The 19-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.
