Woman fined after ugg boot theft

A barefooted woman was caught red handed after attempting to leave a Penrith store wearing a pair of stolen ugg boots.

About 8pm on Saturday, July 5 the 24-year-old Blaxland woman attended a retail store in Penrith.

It is alleged that when she entered the store, she was not wearing any shoes.

The woman paced around the store for a short time and upon her attempt to exit, an employee noticed she was now wearing ugg boots that were stolen from the store.

Security attempted to stop her, but were unsuccessful.

The manager was notified, and the woman was stopped outside the store, causing her to become aggressive.

A nearby off-duty police officer stepped in, and arrested her.

Police were contacted and attended.

The woman was searched, with police locating numerous items of clothing in her bag with price tags still on them.

She was issued a Criminal Infringement Notice and an on the spot fine of $300.
