Exciting winger Brian To’o has signed a three-year extension with the Penrith Panthers.

The new deal means the 21-year-old winger has committed to Panthers until at least the end of the 2023 season.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunities the club has given me and I’m so happy to re-sign,” To’o said.

“This new deal means everything to me and my family.

“Growing up in the Penrith district, Panthers has always been my home. Getting the chance to play for Penrith in the NRL is a dream come true.”

A local junior with St Marys, To’o progressed through the development pathways at Panthers and was a member of the club’s SG Ball side that won the premiership and national championship title in 2016.

He was a consistent performer for the successful Panthers Jersey Flegg team the following two years and represented the NSW U20s Origin side in 2018.

His breakthrough season came last year as he earned his NRL debut for Panthers, won the club’s Ben Alexander Rookie of Year Award and made his Test debut for Samoa.

Panthers Elite Player Development Manager Ben Harden coached To’o for two years in the junior grades and said his potential was clear from the outset.

“From the moment Brian came into our development system, we knew he had the heart of a lion and possessed this incredible athleticism,” Harden said.

“I was always blown away by his ability to joke around before training and then just turn it on and compete from the first whistle.

“It’s a credit to Brian and his family how hard he has worked to get himself to where he is now.”
