Former Lindsay MP Emma Husar has reached an out-of-court settlement with online news publisher BuzzFeed.
Ms Husar took legal action against the publisher over a story and social media posts last year that detailed allegations of misconduct against her.
Ms Husar, who opted not to re-contest Lindsay at this year’s Federal Election in the wake of the allegations, had claimed the publications conveyed a range of false and defamatory imputations about her.
This morning, it was confirmed that the case would not proceed to trial and that a settlement had been reached between the parties.
An internal Labor Party investigation last year found there was no basis for Ms Husar to resign from Parliament.
