Crash investigators have appealed for witnesses to come forward after two women, one of whom was heavily pregnant, died and two men were critically injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Orchard Hills last night.

About 7.40pm last night, emergency services were called to the Northern Road, near Glenmore Parkway at Orchard Hills, after reports of a crash.

Police have been told a Mazda 3 travelling south on the Northern Road collided with a Nissan Tiida travelling north.

The impact forced the Nissan backwards with two other vehicles, a Holden utility and a Toyota Corolla suffering minor damage, as the drivers of those vehicles took evasive action to avoid the crash.

The 17-year-old female driving the Nissan and her rear seat passenger, a 23-year-old woman, who was heavily pregnant, died at the scene.

The crash also claimed the life of the pregnant woman’s unborn twins.

The 25-year-old male front seat passenger in the Nissan was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

A 29-year-old man and sole occupant of the southbound Mazda was trapped for a short time. He was eventually removed and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition with leg injuries where he remains under police guard.

The 18-year-old man driving the Holden and the 23-year-old woman driving the Toyota, were not injured.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene while officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit conducted an examination of the road and vehicles.

Crash Investigators have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with footage of the crash to contact police immediately.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
