Three cats found dead in suspicious circumstances

RSPCA NSW is urgently seeking information regarding three cats that were found deceased in garbage bags with suspected head injuries, under the local Russell Street bridge in Emu Plains.

The RSPCA and local police received information on the discovery from a member of the public who came across the cats last night.

“The member of the public took the deceased cats to a local veterinary clinic for assessment and microchip scanning, according to the veterinarian’s assessment the three cats’ cause of death is looking suspicious of inflicted injury resulting in death,” an RSCPA spokesperson said.

“Unfortunately the cats weren’t microchipped, so identifying potential owners is extremely difficult. RSPCA NSW urges pet owners to always make sure all pets are microchipped and up to date with your current details, as well as a physical tag with contact details.”

RSPCA NSW is asking any members of the public that may have information about this attack to come forward and make a confidential report by calling the animal cruelty hotline on 1300 CRUELTY (1300 278 3589).
