Political satire at its best

Politics can often be more drama filled than a soap opera, which makes it the ultimate comedy fodder.

Masters of theatrical satire ‘The Wharf Revue’ will be back at The Joan this month and, with the election been and gone, they’re sure to have plenty of material to work with.

An institution on the theatre scene, this hilarious production will once again see creators Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phillip Scott return to the stage, joined this year by Katrina Retallick who is no stranger to satire having appeared on ‘The Chaser’, ‘Comedy Inc’ and ‘Backberner’.

Whether a major party or an independent, no one is safe from the hilarious takedowns by some of Australian comedy’s wittiest minds.

‘The Wharf Revue’ is always a popular event on The Joan calendar so if you haven’t had a chance to experience the laughs yet grab your tickets now before they go!

‘The Wharf Revue 2016 – Back to Bite You’ will be on at The Joan from Wednesday, August 24 to Saturday, August 27. Tickets are $65-$70. For more information on performance times or to purchase tickets visit www.thejoan.com.au or call 4723 7600.
