Independent bands will have the chance to show local audiences what they’re made of with Original Bands Collide 2, which kicks off at the Blue Cattle Dog Hotel this week.

After the success of Original Bands Collide, the local band comp is back this month for round two.

“We are so excited to do this for a second time,” said one of the event organisers, Kye Brown.

“We have some great support from the bands and local community.”

The nine week competition will include six heats, two semi finals and a grand final with $5000 in prizes to be won. Prizes of $300 cash and $200 music shop vouchers will also be on offer for each heat.

The competition is open to all genres so if you love music head down to the Blue Cattle Dog Hotel and help support live original music!

Original Bands Collide 2 will be held Thursday nights from 7.30pm at the Blue Cattle Dog Hotel in St Clair. Heats kick off on Thursday, July 7 and the grand final will be held on Thursday, September 1. Entry is free.
