The Penrith Panthers are expected to confirm tomorrow that Jamie Soward has been released effective immediately.
It’s understood 31-year-old Soward informed teammates today that he has taken up an offer to join an English Super League club.
Soward still has another year to run on his contract with the Panthers but has spent the last few rounds in reserve grade, seemingly unwanted by coach Anthony Griffin.
He is the second high profile Panther set to depart for England in as many weeks, with James Segeyaro last week signing a deal with Leeds.
