Man on the run after robbery and home invasion

Police are appealing for information following an aggravated robbery and a home invasion in St Marys early yesterday morning.

About 2am on Sunday, a 27-year-old woman was leaving a club on the Great Western Highway, St Marys, before entering her vehicle parked nearby.

Police have been told an unknown man approached the vehicle, opened the car door, and threatened her with a firearm.

The woman resisted, and the man fled the scene, taking the woman’s wallet, keys and mobile phone.

The woman was uninjured and contacted police.

About 3.10am the same morning, a 44-year-old woman was in her home on Saddington Street, St Marys, when an unknown man broke into her home and assaulted her with a hammer, causing facial injuries and injuries to her torso.

Police from St Marys Local Area Command attended both incidents and crime scenes were established.

The 44-year-old woman woman was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment.

Police believe the same male offender is responsible for both incidents. He has been described as Caucasian appearance, about 40 years old, about 175cm tall, with blue eyes, thin build, and wearing a white ski mask and blue jumper.
