Penrith residents will now be able to have their health checked and their prescriptions filled all under the one roof.

Blooms The Chemist’s ‘MedClinic’ officially opened on Monday, with customers offered the convenience of visiting their doctor and the pharmacy within the one location.

Pharmacist Manager, Rachel El-Fawal, said patients couldn’t be happier.

“Customers of the pharmacy have been asking for months when the ‘MedClinic’ was going to open and now that it is, they love it,” Ms El-Fawal said.

“I personally think it’s a fantastic idea and is the perfect way for pharmacists and doctors to work together and collaborate for the patients.”

The Penrith Westfield pharmacy was due for a retail store refurbishment when it was realised that a doctor’s office could fit within the shop.

“We had the extra space, so to have a doctor’s office there that we can refer our patients to for further advice is definitely ideal,” Ms El-Fawal said.

Ms El-Fawal said it was a huge advantage to the pharmacy to offer both services to customers.

“It expands on what Blooms is about – health and wellness services,” she said.

“If I was a patient, it would be my go-to place to get everything I need.”
