The 2014 NRL season wasn’t just a year to remember the on-field successes of the Penrith Panthers but also the off-field achievements, like their record-breaking season membership numbers.

A whopping 16,400 people signed up to become Panthers members in 2014, which was almost 10,000 more than the previous year’s total.

However, the Panthers membership team have a new goal for season 2015 – that’s to hit the 20,000 members milestone for the first time.

“Our current total is around 7000, which is approximately 20 per cent up on the same time last year,” Panthers General Manager Consumer, Nathan Russell said.

“We expect to have around 12,000 members by Round 1. However, our target for the 2015 season is 20,000 and we are tracking well to achieve that goal.”

The Panthers have unleashed a number of new improvements to their membership packages for 2015, to hopefully reach that target at some stage during the rugby league season.

Improvements include replacing the membership pack with a $30 merchandise voucher which can be spent at the Panther Shop; reducing the price of seats in the Panther Den to encourage more people to experience the fun and excitement that is the Panthers supporter bay; restructuring the Diamond category to free up an extra 300 premium seats; and to deliver memberships out to fans within two weeks of registering.

Mr Russell said feedback on the 2015 memberships have been “extremely positive”.

“There is a sense of anticipation for the 2015 season and fans are looking to get more actively involved,” he said.

“I think this also comes off the back of our continued focus to improve the game day experience – two big screens, Kidz Korner rides and activities.

“Casual fans who experienced one or two games in 2014 are looking to come back and get more involved in 2015.”

According to Mr Russell, there are plenty of huge incentives to becoming a Panthers member in 2015 like cheap food and drinks and exclusive members only email and functions.

“Along with enjoying high quality entertainment by watching the Panthers, a 2015 Panthers football membership includes discounts on food, beverages and merchandise at both Sportingbet Stadium and Panthers Group clubs,” he said.

“Members can also enjoy priority access to State of Origin, Finals Series and NRL Grand Final tickets. In addition, there is exclusive access to players through members only events and exclusive member only giveaways and email correspondence.”

If you’re not a Panthers member already you can become one now by visiting membership.penrithpanthers.com.au, by calling 1300 PANTHERS or popping into the Panther Shop, located on Level 1 inside Penrith Panthers.
