Four arrested over Kingswood carjacking

Three teenagers and a man have been charged after an aggravated carjacking in Kingswood last night.

About 11pm last night, a 27-year-old man stopped his Ford Falcon sedan at the intersection of Bringelly Road and Santley Crescent, Kingswood.

Police have been told a female approached the car and reached into the driver’s seat, allegedly removing the car’s keys and demanding the man drive her and three friends to Penrith.

A male then entered the passenger’s side of the vehicle and allegedly assaulted the driver, before removing him from the vehicle.

A second female and a man approached the scene and the group continued to assault the driver, striking him on the head with a glass bottle.

The group of four then drove the man’s car from the scene, leaving him injured on the road.

Emergency services were called and the man was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment.

Officers attached to St Marys Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.

Following inquiries, police stopped the Ford Falcon on Queen Street, St Marys and arrested two females, aged 16 and 17, a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old man. They were taken to St Marys Police Station.

The 16-year-old female was charged with aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle, drive conveyance without consent and never licensed driver. She was granted conditional bail, to appear at children’s court on November 4.

The remaining three were charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent and aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle.

The 17-year-old male and female were granted conditional bail, to appear at children’s court on November 4.

The man was refused bail, to appear at Parramatta Bail Court.
