Pack your popcorn, picnic rug and pile your family in the car because St Marys’ own outdoor cinema is back again.
Cinema on the Green is to be held on Saturday, February 15, and will feature two family favourites back to back; Monsters University and Iron Man 3.
The cinema, sponsored by St Marys Shopping Village, will pop up on the bowling green at the Fusion Youth and Community Centre in Carsons Lane, St Marys, and is free of charge for local families.
“We thought it was cool to use the old bowling green in this way,” said Fusion’s Judy Tweeddale.
“Outdoor movies are popping up all over Sydney and thought we could [put together] a fun family event for the St Marys and western Sydney community for free.”
This is the second time the youth support organisation has held the event, with one taking place in December last year.
“The first year was good. Those who attended really enjoyed the atmosphere. The numbers weren’t huge as it was straight after Christmas that’s why we’ve moved the date forward but still has the ‘summer’ holiday feeling,” Ms Tweeddale said.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with Monsters University kicking off the event at 8.15pm and will be followed by Iron Man 3.
There will be a sausage sizzle for sale, as well as drinks and nibblies from the Fusion Care.
