Police are appealing for public assistance following reports of a shooting at Kingswood.
Shortly before 2.30pm yesterday, a 23-year-old man attended a house on Jamison Road.
While waiting outside the house, two men have pulled up in a car and assaulted him.
Witnesses have told police that one of the men pulled out a firearm and fired a shot in an unknown direction, before both men fled in the vehicle.
Police from St Marys Local Area Command attended and spoke with the man, who allegedly refused to assist them with the investigation.
A canvass of the area was conducted; however, no physical evidence of a shooting could be located.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a man’s body has been found in bushes near the Great Western Highway at Kingswood. Police have been on the scene all day but it is understood there are no suspicious circumstances.
