Kids will be entertained when the engaging children’s show ‘Hurry Up and Wait’ comes to town.

The show, which received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and also toured Japan and Queensland, will be coming to the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12.

Starring hilarious physical comics Clint Bolster and Liz Skitch, ‘Hurry Up and Wait’ is perfect for children with big imaginations.

The show focuses on a couple of clowns who are in a hurry to get to town and see the grand circus parade.

After finding the best spot to sit in, right next to the big red clock, they wait for the parade to arrive at three o’clock on the dot.

While sitting impatiently, they get bored and hungry until their wonderful imaginations take over and their waiting becomes a fun game.

Using the power of their minds, the clowns feast on food that appears out of thin air and use simple, seemingly boring items to create fantastical new worlds and even discover an entire universe inside a hat.

‘Hurry Up and Wait’ is a unique, entertaining comedy that blends the style of Buster Keaton and Samuel Beckett with the exquisite, light-hearted fun of physical comedy.

Clint Bolster and Liz Skitch are a formidable on-stage duo who provoke extreme emotional and funny highs and lows in the audience as their indefinite wait unfolds.

The show was commissioned for the Queensland Theatre Company and created by deBASE Productions. It has been watched by over 20,000 children in Queensland alone and been on an international tour.

‘Hurry Up and Wait’ is ideal for children aged three to 10-years and has received rave reviews, with the Fringe Review, Edinburgh writing: “It really is a true indication of the quality of a show when the audience, children and parents alike, are in constant fits of laughter.”

‘Hurry Up and Wait’ will show at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre at 10am and 12pm on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12.
Tickets are $17 to $19. For bookings or more information, call 4723 7600 or visit http://www.jspac.com.au.
