Cranebrook man shot dead

A Cranebrook man has been killed in a dramatic shooting at Blackett today.

The man was standing outside a house in Boldrewood Road at around 1.15pm when he was shot.

Police have not released the man’s name but have confirmed he was 31-years-old and from Cranebrook.

The man died at the scene of the incident, and the shooter remains at large.

“A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway involving detectives from Mt Druitt Local Area Command and State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad,” Police said in a statement.

“During a search of the area a sawn-off shotgun was recovered from a drain in Carlisle Avenue. It has been taken for forensic examination.”
