The dramatic season at Penrith has taken a remarkable twist with Luke Lewis stripped of the team’s captaincy.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has installed Kevin Kingston as captain until Lewis finishes his Origin commitments in round 19.
But even then, Lewis may not return to the captaincy.
“I’ve got a lot of thinking to do,” Lewis told The Sunday Telegraph.
The Telegraph reports that Cleary made the decision yesterday morning, and told Lewis with several team-mates in earshot.
Kingston will take over the captaincy role as of this afternoon’s clash with Manly.
