Assault at Kingswood

Police are conducting investigations into the serious assault of a man at Kingswood yesterday afternoon.

 

About 4:15pm, a 53-year-old man was at his home on the Great Western Highway when he answered a knock at the front door.

 

The man opened the door of his unit before four males entered the premises and assaulted him with a glass ashtray.

 

As a result of the attack the man sustained fractured ribs, a broken nose, a fractured cheek and eye socket, broken thumb and serious swelling to his face.

 

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Nepean Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

 

St Marys Police attended the unit and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

 

Detectives are continuing their investigations into the assault and are appealing for anyone with information about the identity of the four males to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
