Merry Christmas to the people of Penrith City!

As 2011 draws to a close, I’d like to highlight our local heroes and volunteers, without whom our community would be a starkly different place. I’d also like to thank Council staff for delivering vital community services; from childcare services to libraries, from swimming pools to parks and more. Remember, as Mayor with my fellow Councillors, we are your voice in Council to shape our community for the better. I look forward to working with you to harness more opportunities for our City in the coming year.

Amid the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations, it’s heartening to see many Penrith City residents show great generosity of spirit to those less fortunate.

Earlier this month, I opened the Penrith Homelessness Forum, which helped lay the foundations for this region’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness.

Together, we can make homelessness history and enable even the most disadvantaged to lead successful and healthy lives.

A safe and happy Christmas to you and your families. See you in 2012!
