BREAKING NEWS: Two people have been killed in separate accidents in the local area this afternoon.
Shortly after 1pm, police and emergency services were called to Trinity Drive at Werrington following reports a cyclist had been injured.
Police attended and found the man, believed to be aged in his 40s, unconscious and suffering severe head injuries.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics took the man to Nepean Hospital where he died a short time later.
Police have established a crime scene and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
It is not yet known whether a vehicle was involved in the crash, however The Western Weekender understands the incident may be a hit and run.
There's extensive delays on Dunheved Road and Trinity Drive, and there is no access to or from Richmond Road.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck on the Great Western Highway at Emu Plains. The incident happened near Old Bathurst Road.
Witnesses have told police that the man was hit by a truck which allegedly failed to stop.
There are extensive delays in the area, and the Crash Investigation Unit is on the scene.
Delays are back to Victoria Bridge. Westbound motorists are being advised to avoid the Great Western Highway.
