Fire damages pharmacy at Werrington County

Detectives will be examining the scene of a fire, which damaged a business at Werrington County this morning.

Emergency services arrived at a shopping centre on Dunheved Road, about 4.20am today to find a pharmacy well alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW firefighters contained the fire to the pharmacy with some adjoining businesses sustaining smoke damage.

The scene has now been rendered safe and handed to police.

It will be examined in an effort to determine the cause of the fire.

The business was extensively damaged.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Meanwhile, police are investigating after a garage fire at a home in St Marys last night.

About 11.15pm last night, emergency services were called to a home on Stanley Street, St Marys, following reports of a garage well alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW officers extinguished the blaze; however, the garage and laundry were damaged.

The two occupants, an 83 year-old man and 77-year-old woman, escaped uninjured.

A man and woman residing in a granny flat at the back of the property also evacuated and were not injured.
