An unexploded tank shell has been recovered from a home in Claremont Meadows this evening.
Police and Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended the home on Massa Place at around 7pm tonight after the home owner watched a television show that featured an item being described as an explosive.
The woman called police to report she had a similar item at her home that she had been using as a door stop for over 15 years.
Police and firefighters inspected the item and called for assistance from the army bomb disposal unit.
Army technicians arrived and after inspecting the item it was placed in a secure box and taken away to be disposed of.
