Wallet thief caught

A 30 year old male has been charged with using a weapon to avoid apprehension, stealing and assault, following the theft of a wallet from the Kingswood Hotel.

 

It will be alleged that about 2pm last Wednesday, the male took a wallet from within the hotel, which contained personal papers and a quantity of cash. 

 

The male was confronted by the female victim and a male where it will be alleged he produced a knife and then fled from the scene. 

 

About 8pm, later that evening, the male was arrested on a train as it was approaching Waverton Railway Station.

 

It will be alleged that the male was in possession of personal papers from the earlier incident. 

 

The male has been conditionally bailed to attend Penrith Local Court on January 9.
