Sounds Fresh #4 – Osita + Blue Hill

April 2 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

OSITA 6pm

Based in the Blue Mountains, OSITA is an independent musician, songwriter, composer, and producer. With an academic background in jazz and bossa nova, she blends compositional influences to create synth pop music with an unashamedly Australian accent. Under OSITA, she has released two singles Skin (2019) and Sign (2020), along with two EPs Home (2019) and ≈ Me (2021). Her lyrics focus on relatable depictions of the human experience, and she is currently composing a new album to be released in 2025. While she plays a range of instruments in her recordings, she fell in love with the bass guitar at eleven and is now focussed on creating songs that connect bass and vocals, supported by backing instruments recorded and produced in her home studio. Other than performing and composing, she is passionate about making music education accessible, teaches private music lessons, and has started an educational YouTube channel mara mae music.

BLUE HILL 7pm

Blue Hill is an indie folk band from the Blue Mountains, featuring the sibling duo Luca and Tala. Known for their heartfelt harmonies and emotive storytelling, the pair draw inspiration from their natural surroundings, crafting music that resonates with authenticity and warmth. Their performances blend delicate melodies with a contemporary folk sensibility, creating an engaging and intimate connection with their audiences. Adding depth to their live shows, Blue Hill often performs as a trio, enhancing their sound with intricate instrumental layers. Luca and Tala are thrilled to bring their music to The Joan in Penrith as part of the Sounds Fresh 2025 program. Their set will feature a three-piece line-up, showcasing both their signature sibling synergy and the dynamic range of their folk artistry. Blue Hill continues to carve a unique path in the Australian folk scene, sharing their passion for music with listeners far and wide.

Ticket includes a complimentary drink from the Borland Bar.
