An alleged robber who got away has been nabbed after he returned to the scene of his crime to collect his bicycle.

About 10.30pm last Friday (October 12), a 37-year-old man from Nowra went to an address in Henderson Crescent, Jamisontown and entered the garage of the house.

Police allege the man was in the process of taking some property when the female owner walked into the garage and confronted him.

The man ran from the house and was chased by the owner for a short distance before he threw the property back towards her.

The lady picked up her property and returned home and called the police.

A short time later the offender returned to the area while police were there and attempted to get his bike that he had left at the house.

The man was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged.
