Police are appealing for public assistance to identify two people responsible for the attempted robbery of a man in Werrington Downs yesterday.
A 23-year-old man went to St Marys Police Station about 3pm yesterday to report he’d been walking towards a fast food outlets in Dunheved Street in Werrington Downs when he was approached by two men.
The man told police the men threatened to stab him, then punched him in the face and tried to steal his wallet.
The man managed to get into his car and called Triple Zero (000). The men ran from the scene and the victim went to St Marys Police Station to report the incident.
Police are now keen to speak with two men they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The first male is described of being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 170cm tall, skinny build and being in his late teens to early 20s with scruffy black hair and wearing a navy blue shirt, shorts and white sneakers.
The second male is also described of being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 160cm tall, skinny build wearing a white t shirt, red shorts and white sneakers.
The man suffered cuts and facial swelling as a result of the attack.
