After a seven week, sell-out season at the Comedy Store, Australian comedian Judith Lucy is back on stage in Sydney – and this time she’s headed out to Penrith Panthers World of Entertainment.
One of the country’s most popular female comics, Judith brings her show ‘Nothing Fancy’ to the EVAN Theatre in what’s set to be a no-frills, top-notch, unadorned evening of stand-up.
There’ll be no singing and no dancing, just gags about everything from Internet dating and her cockroach phobia to meditation and terrariums. After all, who doesn’t want to talk about terrariums?
Not one to hold back, Judith will be a little bit charming and very hilarious… but nothing fancy.
Most of Australia got to know Judith when she came onto our screens as part of ‘The Late Show’ on the ABC in 1993. Since then Judith has sold out national tours, featured in films, had various stints in radio and established herself as one of Australia’s most successful comedians.
In 2011, Judith went on a quest to discover something to believe in in her television show titled ‘Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey’.
The show turned out to be a massive hit, scoring brilliant ratings for the ABC! Even sometimes hard to please critics can’t get enough of the 44-year-old Western Australian.
The Age said: “Great comedians have time for a sip of water after delivering a ripper punch line. There were times when Lucy could have gone to the bar for a glass of red and we’d still be laughing when she got back”.
The Sydney Morning Herald said: “Lucy is one of our finest comic talents, of any sex, race or religion”.
See what the critics have been raving about when Judith Lucy performs live at the EVAN Theatre, Penrith Panthers on Saturday, September 1 at 7pm. Tickets are $40.
