Last month, small businesses from across Australia delivered an impressive array of entries for the 2012 National Small Business Champion Awards, but it was Penrith’s businesses that shone through.
Out of the large number of entries received from all over the nation, 16 local businesses were named as finalists.
Three local businesses – Production Automotive, Complete Recruitment Solutions and Nepean Security – were named as winners of the award for their respective categories.
The team at Production Automotive, winner in the automotive services category, were more than happy with the result.
“Winning the award was so unexpected. The calibre of the businesses in our category was exceptional so to win the award was a massive surprise,” said Melinda Leyshon, Managing Director at Production Automotive.
“Winning the award has been great for our company.
“It gave our team a huge moral boost, gave us the chance to review all our processes and it has given our customers a peace of mind that we perform at a high standard.”
The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is the only national program of its kind to recognise the achievements and performances of small businesses.
Penrith Mayor, Greg Davies, also attended the awards and congratulated the nominated businesses by reading a Mayoral Minute at last week’s Penrith City Council meeting.
“The Australian Small Business Champion Awards are the pinnacle of business success,” Councillor Davies said.
“Their nominations reflect their hard work, the contribution of their business in generating employment and their contribution to the economic development of our local community.
“I’d like to congratulate all the small businesses nominated this year and thank the owners and their employees for their ongoing contribution to the development of our region.”
In addition to the Australian Small Business Champion Awards, Councillor Davies presented awards to the owners of Production Automotive, Complete Recruitment Solutions and Nepean Regional Security at its Council meeting last week.
