A man will appear in court after allegedly assaulting another man in Penrith on Saturday.
About 10pm on Saturday, a 22-year-old man was involved in an altercation with another man outside a hotel on Peachtree Road at Penrith.
It’s alleged the 22-year-old was pushed to the ground, causing him to hit his head on the cement.
Witnesses contacted emergency services and officers attached to Penrith Local Area Command attended and began an investigation into the alleged incident.
The injured man was taken to Nepean Hospital where he remains in intensive care with a severe head injury.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 20-year-old man a short time later before taking him to Penrith Police Station where he was subsequently charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He’s been bailed to appear at Penrith Local Court on April 30.
