Over the past month, team members from the Luke Priddis Foundation have been shedding kilos to raise funds for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The "achievit" charity challenge is a weight loss fundraiser designed to match an activity based fundraising challenge, with behaviours that promote good public health outcomes.
The foundation urged locals to get sponsored by friends, family and colleagues to lose a few kilos to raise money for a good cause.
The campaign began in December last year and so far, the team at the Luke Priddis Foundation have lost a fantastic 10kg, raising over $1000 for kids with ASD.
The Luke Priddis foundation was established in 2006 and is dedicated to helping out the children and the families who deal with ASD by providing access to support, resources and early intervention.
"At the Luke Priddis foundation, we realise there is no quick fix for the challenges faced by children living with Autism Spectrum Disorders,” Mr Priddis said.
"Instead we aim to provide families with the right tools, resources, education and support to help them on their lifelong journey.”
The "achievit" charity challenge was perfectly suited to the foundation because it reflects the ongoing challenge of looking after children with ASD.
