EXCLUSIVE: State Mulgoa MP, Tanya Davies, is helping to discover the future leaders of New South Wales by setting up the Mulgoa Secondary School Leaders Forum.
13 students from local high schools attended the inaugural forum at NSW Parliament this week.
Students had the opportunity to meet and discuss leadership with Education Minister Adrian Piccoli, Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian and Parliamentary Secretary for Treasury and Finance Matthew Mason-Cox.
Mrs Davies said she was impressed by the ideas and questions put forward by the local students.
“These students were great representatives of the talent in Mulgoa and they had some great ideas to share with the Ministers and Parliamentary Secretary,” she said.
Students were then able to witness Premier Barry O’Farrell and other MPs in action during question time in the Legislative Assembly Chamber.
“It is important that our young leaders have an insight into how their government functions,” Mrs Davies said.
“The young leader’s participation in the leadership forum, I trust, will challenge our young people to be confident, courageous, passionate and disciplined leaders to make a difference in their communities.
“I believe in our young people and their aspirations for themselves and their wider school and local communities.”
