Police from St Marys Local Area Command have arrested and charged a man after he allegedly led police on a pursuit and crashed a car into a residence at St Clair overnight.
Shortly before midnight on Thursday, September 1, patrolling police observed a man in a Holden Commodore, allegedly performing a burnout in Day Street at Colyton.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle and when the driver refused to stop a police pursuit was initiated.
Officers pursued the car through Colyton, St Clair and Erskine Park.
The car failed to negotiate a roundabout and left the carriageway striking the garage of a home near the intersection of Banks Drive and St Clair Avenue at St Clair.
Police arrested the 22-year-old driver and he was taken to St Marys Police Station.
A woman and child in the home were not injured however the premises appear to have sustained major damage.
The 22-year-old St Clair man was later charged with burnout, fail to yield and engage police in pursuit (Skye’s Law).
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on 26 September.
