Westfield Penrith will trade as normal tomorrow, with the Christmas rush to continue despite a fire at the centre earlier today.
More than 2000 people were evacuated from Penrith’s main shopping centre after a fire erupted around 1.20pm.
The blaze started at a noodle shop in the food court. It prompted the automatic sprinkler system to turn on, while smoke filled the food court and surrounding area.
It’s understood one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
While some retailers were forced to close for the day, most are expected to be open as usual tomorrow.
Damage to stock and shops is being assessed.
