A healthcare worker from Nepean Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) said there is no impact to the hospital’s operations.
“There is no ongoing risk to patients or staff and no impact on our services,” the spokesperson said.
“Health screening is carried out on all staff at the start of each shift. The healthcare worker wore a mask while at work and did not work whilst unwell.
“The healthcare worker was undertaking non-clinical duties during this time. At the first sign of symptoms, the healthcare worker immediately presented to a COVID-19 clinic for testing.”
The spokesperson said NBMLHD has strict contact tracing and screening procedures in place for confirmed COVID-19 cases and their contacts.
“For privacy protection, no further details associated with contact tracing or testing will be provided,” the spokesperson said.
