In what can only be described as a huge coup for Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club, one of Europe’s most respected and established golf coaches has joined the Luddenham-based facility to help develop and build the best golf academy in the country.

Englishman Ian Godleman, who coaches on the European Mens, Ladies, LPGA and Australasian Tours, has carved out a reputation as being one of the finest coaches in the sport.

Counting former world number one Seve Ballesteros amongst his ex-pupils, Godleman has spent most of his career coaching both male and female professionals on the European Mens and Ladies Tours including multiple winners and numerous Ryder Cup players.

Godleman said he’s thrilled to be setting up roots in Australia as well as being part of the Twin Creeks set-up.

“I have really been fortunate to coach, help and be around some of the best players in the world and I really see it as key to start putting this knowledge back into up and coming golfers,” he said.

“I still think many provincial and national squads are not quite hitting the mark in preparing top amateur players for life on Tour and, having worked on Tour most of my life, I see that quite clearly.”

Godleman’s work comes highly regarded with David Leadbetter citing him as a world-class coach, sentiments echoed by Australia’s top coach Denis McDade.

Since Godleman’s arrival in Australia, several Tour players have already started to visit Twin Creeks for coaching. Recently, European Tour player Josh Geary said he was “absolutely blown away” by Godleman’s knowledge.

With Godleman now at the helm, the future sure looks bright for Twin Creeks.
