Appliance retailer 2nds World has fallen into administration.

Its Penrith store, as well as other stores across New South Wales and Victoria, have been closed and online ordering is no longer available.

The retailer made the announcement quietly over the Easter holiday period, appointing De Vries Tayeh as administrators.

While it was originally expected stores would trade for a limited time, it’s understood most have been closed for a number of weeks.

2nds World was privately owned and had been running for more than 35 years.

The business specialised in offering discounted products that were factory seconds, carton damaged or run out stock.

The 2nds World website is still running but states: “All stores and online ordering closed until further notice”.

The company’s Facebook page remains open but there have been no posts since March 24 and no message to customers about the closure or state of the operations.

The Penrith store was located on Mulgoa Road.
