Two men have been charged following an investigation by the Drug and Firearms Squad into large commercial drug supply in Sydney’s west.
In July 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Harfleur to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.
As part of the investigation, strike force detectives previously seized various amounts of cocaine, heroin, and more than 1kg of MDMA during controlled operations.
The MDMA has an estimated potential street value of more than $150,000.
Following further investigations, Strike Force Harfleur, detectives assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed two search warrants at homes at St Clair just after 7pm yesterday.
During the searches, police seized cannabis and three small cannabis plants, LSD, various powders, believed to be prohibited drugs; steroids, and more than $2000 cash.
Two men – aged 26 and 28 – were arrested during the operation and taken to Penrith Police Station.
The 26-year-old man was charged with 12 counts of drug supply, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, and four counts of possess prohibited drug.
The 28-year-old man was charged with 11 counts of drug supply, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and possess prohibited plant.
Police will allege in court the men supplied illicit drugs on numerous occasions between August and October 2018.
Both men were refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
Inquiries are continuing.
