Tyrone Peachey has become the latest big game Panthers player dropped to reserve grade by coach Anthony Griffin.
Peachey played in the Intrust Super Premiership today and will not line-up for Penrith against Cronulla at Pepper Stadium tomorrow.
Panthers boss Phil Gould confirmed via Twitter this afternoon that the 24-year-old was dropped for “disciplinary” reasons.
“Panther Fans – Tyrone Peachey in NSW Cup today for disciplinary reasons – Tyrone totally accepts actions taken. He is very important to us,” the Tweet said.
A host of big name players have been dropped to reserve grade by coach Griffin since the start of the season, including Elijah Taylor, Jamie Soward and James Segeyaro. All three have since moved on from the club.
Penrith’s line-up for tomorrow’s game against the ladder-leading Sharks remains a mystery with Griffin also needing to replace NSW fullback Matt Moylan. It’s likely Will Smith will start at fullback.
There’s speculation that teenager Dylan Edwards may make his first grade debut.
