The Panthers will drop a bombshell tomorrow by announcing the appointment of former Canterbury forward Corey Payne as their new Chief Executive of Rugby League.
Penrith confirmed a short time ago they would make a “major announcement” at 11am, but didn’t release any further details.
However, it’s understood the announcement will be that 31-year-old Payne has secured the top job at the club’s football department.
The CEO role has been vacant since Justin Pascoe joined the Wests Tigers last year.
Payne played eight seasons in the NRL with the Bulldogs, Dragons and Tigers. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney and has developed a strong reputation in the business world.
The appointment of Payne will complete a restructure of Penrith’s management team with Brian Fletcher already in place as Group CEO and David O’Neill the new Chairman.
