Last year country music icon Lee Kernaghan released a new album that pays tribute to the men and women of our Defence Forces.
Following on from the release of the album – titled ‘The Spirit of the Anzacs’ – Lee hit the road for ‘The Songs and the Stories in Concert’ tour which will be heading back to the western suburbs this April.
Lee gained inspiration for the tracks after a visit to the Australian War Memorial where he read letters from those who’ve served our country abroad.
“As I was reading the letters I was absolutely overcome with emotion, reading the words of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and the nurses and their families,” Lee said.
“I think it was at that point that the idea to adapt their words, their honest noble words, to music began.”
Joining Lee on stage for this poignant concert will be special guests The Wolfe Brothers and Christie Lamb.
Lee Kernaghan’s ‘The Songs and the Stories in Concert’ tour will be coming to Rooty Hill RSL on Thursday, April 21 at $54.90 per ticket. For more information, visit http://www.rootyhillrsl.com.au or call 9677 4916.
