After 18 years, Australia Day at Penrith Lakes is bigger and better than ever.

From superstars to motocross, Tuesday, January 26 is going to be packed with free entertainment for the whole family.

Kickstarting the festivities at 6pm for the younger kids, is SplashDance and former yellow Wiggle and star of Nick Jr’s ‘Play Along with Sam’, Sam Moran.

Local pop, hip hop and RnB super group NeWest will entertain with singers, rappers and dancers such as JROD from ‘X-Factor’ 2013, eNVy, Cauchi and Skywalker.

Then, from the team that brought you that iconic Snickers commercial with Ray Meagher, freestyle motocross team Freestyle Kings will bring you two insane FMX performances.

Just before the spectacular fireworks show, the one and only Shannon Noll is back in Penrith to perform his most famous hits, such as ‘Shine’, ‘Learn to Fly’, ‘Don’t Give Up’ and ‘What About Me’.

Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown has extended a warm thank you to the Sydney International Regatta Centre for once again hosting the iconic event.

“Sydney International Regatta Centre has been a host and major sponsor of our Australia Day Celebrations at the Lakes for the last 18 years,” she said.

“Without the generous support of this local icon we couldn’t offer such a great free celebration for our community each year.”

Sydney International Regatta Centre Venue Manager, Kevin Flynn said they are delighted to still be a part of the celebrations after so many years.

“This is a major cultural event for the people of western Sydney and a tradition for Penrith families,” he said.

Council has placed a smoking ban on the family event and has asked the community to refrain from bringing alcohol, glass, unsealed bottles and pets.

This year, the event site will be on the warm up lake, not the grandstand area, and Council reminds families to bring cash as there will be no ATMs on site.

There will be free shuttle buses to the venue from 5pm to 10pm between the northern side of Penrith Station to the venue.
