A teenage boy has serious injuries after a horrible New Year’s Eve incident in Cranebrook.
The 14-year-old reportedly dived head first into a shallow swimming pool, hitting his head and suffering suspected serious spinal injuries.
The teenager was unable to self-mobilise to exit the pool.
Emergency Services were called to the scene, and a Medical Retrieval Team was flown in by helicopter.
After extensive and extended treatment, the teenager was transported to Westmead Hospital by road, with a police escort.
Investigations into the incident are being carried out.
